It’s been a strange year or so for him, and Keith Lee provides an update on his prolonged AEW absence.

We’ve barely seen him since he left WWE and joined AEW. The word is that the former NXT Champion is dealing with yet another health issue of an undisclosed nature. Some have wondered if he was trying to get out of AEW. Maybe he wanted to back to WWE and work with Triple H and Michin again? But probably not, because Tony Khan is about the last promoter in the world who grants releases. So amidst all the silence and photos on milk cartons (not really, but you’d understand why), Lee shared some news.

Keith Lee posted a message on his social media to at least give an update on his AEW absence.
Obviously, he is thankful for the support he has received. He does not sound like clearance is imminent (assuming he’s waiting on medical clearance), but he is not done and is working toward a return.
It’s worth noting that Keith Lee dealt with a similar issue while in WWE. He missed extended time due to health concerns, which if memory serves was something linked to COVID-but a lot was initially shrouded in mystery. Of course, it’s his health and that is his right to keep it private. But at the same time, fans care for him and want to see him healthy and dominating.

Regardless of where it happens-AEW, WWE or NXT, or anywhere else-I would love to see him back in form. I-and many other fans-surely want to see the Keith Lee that impressed in NXT, becoming a dual champion. The same Keith Lee who had an awesome clash with Brock Lesnar in a Royal Rumble.
