Is Gabe Kidd now a member of the AEW roster after appearing on this week’s Dynamite? Will Darby Allin be back on television soon after achieving his dream of reaching the top of Mount Everest? New reports offer up answer to both.
Former AEW TNT champion Darby Allin has been off television since December. He was away to train and then undertake the climb to the top of Mount Everest. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the fan-favorite star had reached the top. So, should fans expect him back on TV soon?
“For those asking, AEW was not expecting Darby Allin to be back by AEW Double or Nothing,” Fightful reported this week.
AEW Double or Nothing goes down this Saturday and will feature a huge Anarchy in the Arena match that will feature many of the company’s top stars. While Allin is not expected back for the event, a return in June seems very likely now that his Everest quest is over.
Gabe Kidd has not signed with AEW
On this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, NJPW star Gabe Kidd made a surprise return in the evening’s main event. Helping Jon Moxley retain the world title in a cage match against Samoa Joe. His appearance, of course, created speculation that he might have signed a deal with the company. Since so many talents from NJPW make the move to AEW when their contracts expire.
However, Fightful also reported that “Gabe Kidd confirmed that he’s not under AEW contract.” It is unclear if he will appear at Double or Nothing this weekend, but that seems very likely.
Kidd’s contract with NJPW reportedly expired earlier this year. However, instead of signing a new exclusive contract, rumors claim he is working on a per-date basis for both promotions at the moment.
