Saraya has been a team player and has never rejected any storylines that have been pitched to her. However, there was one instance where circumstances and her own moral fiber led her to reject an idea for an on-screen relationship in AEW.
The former WWE Divas Champion had a remarkable run in All Elite Wrestling that began in 2022. She had been a part of many prominent programs and storylines. But Tony Khan and his regime once pitched a completely new storyline that she had never done before.
In the recent edition of her podcast, The Rule Breakers, Saraya revealed that AEW had once pitched a love storyline to her. The former Women’s World Champion was asked to be paired with fellow wrestler, Daddy Magic. The duo was to be portrayed as an onscreen couple, and according to her, there had to be kissing scenes involved.
“So, there’s a wrestler called Daddy Magic. They wanted me to do a love storyline with him. And I’ve managed to go my whole career without doing a love storyline,” she said. “I wasn’t going to start now, you know? And they were like, ‘No, all he’s going to do is kiss you.’ I had a boyfriend at the time, and I was just like, I can’t do it, you guys. I just can’t do it. So I turned that down.”
Saraya had a good run in AEW and even had a big moment when she won the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In 2023 in her home country. However, she revealed in March 2025 that she had left the promotion and exited on good terms.
Moreover, the former AEW star has been dropping teases of a potential return to WWE, although she made it clear recently that it would not happen this year. With Saraya currently exploring life outside the ring, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the trailblazing women’s wrestler.
