Mercedes Mone might be a champion in AEW, but there are growing calls for Tony Khan to remove the former WWE superstar from TV.

After leaving WWE, Sasha Banks (now Mercedes Mone) did not sign with AEW right away. She worked briefly for Japan before an injury set her back many months. Therefore, Mone’s AEW debut needed to be delayed. Since debuting, the reaction has been mixed at best. Fans were not digging her as a face, so AEW made the needed heel change. Even with two titles, Mone still is not over.
On Busted Open Radio, TNA Champion Nic Nemeth thinks Tony Khan needs to make some changes. Basically, he want Mone to be removed from TV until fan interest spikes again. “Even if you cheered for them 9.5 out of 10, when [wrestlers] come back and make that return, catch you off guard, or you’re excited about the return, it becomes a 10 out of 10,” said Nemeth. “That really helps the product stay fresh for everybody.”

Could Mercedes Mone Return To WWE?
The TBS Champion as well as the NJPW Women’s STRONG Champion has rarely tasted defeat in AEW. Currently, she is working a program with Kris Statlander. While I like Statlander, she will not be the one to dethrone the champion. Honesty, I am having trouble thinking of an opponent that would elevate Mone. Maybe, when Toni Storms returns, that could be something fresh.
We might never know if Mone made the right choice in leaving WWE for AEW. With Vince McMahon out of the picture, perhaps Triple H can convince Mone to return. I am still holding-out on the Four Horsewomen teaming together or another Bayley feud against her best friend. So, should Tony Khan yank Mercedes Mone from AEW TV?
