Unlike the WWE, which holds 12-17 events annually, AEW has generally had four major pay-per-views (PPVs) each year. Still, a report reveals they are talking about organizing another one for the end of 2023.
AEW Discusses Another PPV For This Year
Since its origins in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has held four events every year, which include Revolution, All Out, Full Gear, and Double or Nothing. Still, they have been “testing the waters” as of late, by adding to their annual events’ schedule.
Some examples of this include All In this year, which took place at London’s Wembley Stadium last month and broke attendance records. Another is the 2022 Forbidden Door event that was organized in conjunction with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
According to Bodyslam.net’s Cassidy Haynes, the promotion is currently in talks to hold another event by the end of 2023, after Full Gear. It’s important to note that nothing is “set in stone”.
Still, a possible date being thrown around for the event is Friday, December 29th. This would potentially be the eighth PPV for the company in 2023.
Judgement Day Plans Changed
AEW Moving To 12 Events, Annually
As WNZ reported earlier this week, as of 2024, the company has decided to increase its yearly events to 12. This would mean a major event scheduled for All Elite Wrestling, every month.
In addition, it’s expected that these events will be moved to the Max streaming service, once known as HBO Max. There was no timeline provided within the report on exactly when the All Elite events will move to Max.
Over the four years it’s been in operation, All Elite Wrestling continues to grow and expand. With three weekly shows, and now an increase in major events, they continue to create major waves in the wrestling industry.
