It might have happened later than expected, but Darby Allin is training Sting’s son to become a wrestler.

The wrestling world got introduced to Steven Borden as part of Sting’s final ring entrance as an AEW wrestler. Steven and his brother dressed up like their dad and accompanied him to the ring for his tag title match at AEW Revolution. While Steven Borden grew up in the shadows of professional wrestling, he had never had the urge to become one himself.
Well, Darby Allin was speaking with Fightful to talk about a wide range of topics. After all, had things gone as planned, Allin should be pretty off the grid now. He had been set to attempt to reach the summit of Everest. Life had other plans, and instead he managed to get hit by a bus in New York City. However, since Darby Allin is stateside, he is doing something else. The AEW pillar confirmed in his Fightful interview that he is training the younger Borden to become a professional wrestler, just like dear old dad.
Better Late Than Never
It is a bit of a late interest to be sure. But, wrestling is obviously in his blood. Plus, the younger Steven Borden is athletically gifted in his own right. He was blessed with good genes, and he did play college football. He even got a pro tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, that was about a decade ago. We see plenty of new talents coming right out of college and jumping into one developmental opportunity or other. Which means for the son of Sting, he’s a bit behind. Of course, he would need to look no further than Diamond Dallas Page for inspiration in terms of a star who found the ring later than most.
So not only is Darby preparing for Anarchy in the Arena as a part of Double or Nothing. He has also taken on the responsibility of bringing Steven Borden along through his wrestling education.
