It has been a decade since Corey Graves was still considered a wrestler. He was in NXT, when he suffered two concussion. Despite trying, he opted to retire and switched to an on-air role for WWE. He was spotted on pre-shows before eventually being promoted to commentary. He has called action for all three brands of WWE- RAW, SmackDown and NXT.

Sam Adonis, younger brother of Corey, recently posted a video of the two inside a ring. Clearly, Graves is not afraid to take bumps. In fact, he told TMZ Sports how he was cleared to wrestle again. “I have been medically cleared to compete,” said Graves. “It’s not an immediate goal of mine, [but] it was just something I needed to know for my own sanity. My journey in the ring got cut short, and it’s kinda eaten at me for years, always wondering what if, what if there’s a chance, what if there’s an opportunity.” He added how a return has crossed his mind.

Life After Retirement

While retired, he did win the 24/7 Championship for about a minute. Remember, then belt was won by 20 year old women and 80 year old men. For a bit, having the belt around brought some good laughs. Eventually, WWE dropped the idea after the gold lost that comedic joy and became somewhat annoying.

We have seen plenty of careers, like Bryan Danielson, Adam Copeland and Saraya, get a chance. Almost everyone took the offer, but not Graves. After a decade away from that role, there will always been an itch about returning and concerns over health. The man has a family and is still part of WWE, hence it could be worse. So, any interest in Corey Graves making a wrestling return inside a ring?
