Before we get into it, it is worth reminding readers of something.

While WWE has recently released NFL themed title belts for fans to scoop up, this is not what was used in this case.

WWE has given championship belts to professional sports teams for a while. We’ve seen title winning teams proudly show off their wrestling gold during championship parades.

Recently, the Kansas City Chiefs won yet another Super Bowl, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. Hometown boy Baron Corbin should be happy as he likely celebrated with steak, cigars and top shelf liquor.

Last week, they celebrated their big win with the usual fanfare of a championship parade.

Unfortunately, the parade ended in tragedy, with a number of children wounded and a mother of two being shot dead.

And yet, as the chaos of the shooting was unfolding, one Chiefs player used their WWE belt to do something amazing.

It may have seemed so simple. Yet it it meant so much and likely had a needed impact on a young boy’s life.

Offensive linemen Trey Smith was holding the gold at that point during the parade when the shooting started.

Smith observed a young boy with his father. The boy was understandably shaken up.

Speaking with ESPN, the lineman explained that he gave the boy the WWE belt and told him that he was with the champions now.

Smith added that he talked wrestling with the boy to take his mind off of the unfolding tragedy.
