In a move that is sure to raise some eyebrows, at least a couple WWE Superstars join the We Want Cody movement.
If you somehow missed it, we saw a massive change in plans for WrestleMania 40 as of Friday’s SmackDown.
We have the results of that show and every episode of SmackDown in 2024.
To close Friday’s show, Cody Rhodes came out to address Roman Reigns.
Rhodes talked up how he wanted to end Reigns and his run, but it wouldn’t be at WrestleMania.
Out came The Rock. Nothing was said, but the implication was clear.
And since that moment, this has become effectively official, and we can expect more by way of the Las Vegas press conference later this week.
Since that stunning change of plans, fans have been voicing their support for the American Nightmare.
So much so that they got “We Want Cody” trending.
Superstars Join The We Want Cody Movement
I am sure it isn’t the first time that talent have been outspoken, but this might be a whole new level of it.
And the talent chiming in? So far, it’s one significant name and one massive name.
Ricochet made it clear over the weekend that he was 100% on team We Want Cody, but he was not alone.
The United States Champion, megastar Logan Paul has also come out and declared the same point.
Considering how much negative feedback the situation has garnered over social media, it does make you wonder what happens next.
This does remind me ever so slightly of the situation that led us to Yes-tleMania.
In case anyone forgot, fans wanted Daniel Bryan in the main event, WWE creative moved to give us Triple H and Batista.
Batista wasn’t happy with how that one worked out, but fans absolutely were.
With whats going around, and with plenty of time to work things out, fans are beginning to wonder if we won’t see plans change once more.
