Bayley was not even mentioned during the huge WrestleMania 40 Presser, despite earning a title shot and Mickie James comes to her defense.
Mickie James Feels WWE Slighted Bayley With WrestleMania 40 Snub
When Bayley entered the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, it did look promising. She came in at number three, so the odds were not on her side.
Still, she outlasted every other competitor to secure a title shot at WrestleMania 40. In the final moments, she got rid of Jade Cargill and Liv Morgan.
To hype WrestleMania 40, WWE headed to Las Vegas for a presser. There were massive names like The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins for the finale.
Also, Rhea Ripley was there with her title and Becky Lynch confronted her. In the mix of all those wrestlers, Bayley was not present.
In fact, WWE did not even mention her at all. CM Punk made a comment after the fact, wishing Bayley was present.
And, he is not alone. Fans were vocal as was former WWE Women’s Champion turned TNA wrestler, Mickie James.
On Busted Open Radio, Mickie gave Bayley all the credit in the world.
“I would’ve been a bit slighted,” said James. “I felt like it was a bit of a slight in a sense, not just to the women’s division but to her.”
“She’s probably the best female worker there. I think that she’s been a constant [on programming].”
“Everything that she does is so good. She’s just a leader.”
Since winning the Royal Rumble, Bayley has turned face and will face Iyo Sky at WrestleMania. As of now, WWE is yet to confirm what night that takes place.
As for headlining either night, that seems unlikely. We know Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns will close one of those nights.
There is no word on what the other main event will be. There has been talk of Rhodes & Rollins vs The Rock & Reigns.
So, does Mickie James have a point that WWE is not giving Bayley respect heading into WrestleMania 40?
