The last few years have been especially unkind to him, and Jim Ross provides us with a new medical update.
It could be said it started off not so great, but the finish looks promising.
Ross, the AEW commentator, has had a few significant health issues in recent years, including at least one prior run in with cancer.
And now, another.
Ross posted an update to the former Twitter site, which was covered by Cageside.
In it, he informed the world that he had just undergone surgery to remove cancer from his hip.
He deemed it successful, and we truly hope so.
His prior experience with cancer resulted in a surgical procedure to remove it from his leg.
Jim Ross Provides New Medical Update
However, as sometimes happens, Ross experienced complications.
His leg hasn’t been the same since, and the legendary wrestling voice has missed quite a bit of time in the last year or so.
It is too soon to say anything beyond what Ross himself said in his medical update. But the WWE Hall of Fame announcer seemed in good spirits.
While he has been away from the announce desk a lot, there is one future date penciled in on his calendar.
Good ol’ JR has been insistent upon being on the call for Sting’s retirement match in just a short while from now.
Ross, of course, had the pleasure of calling quite a fair few of Sting’s matches while they both worked for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling.
Honestly, who could blame him for wanting to call that man’s final match?
There have been reports that Ross has a contract expiring prior to that final match. But it seems like it won’t be a hard deal to get done.
After all, Tony Khan seems to love Jim Ross, and JR has not indicated a desire to leave the company.
We thank JR for a positive medical update and we hope he has a speedy recovery.
