Coming into the Royal Rumble, it was widely expected we would see an old familiar face…so what Brock Lesnar plans did we miss?
While he was never announced leading up to the 2024 edition of the premium live event, many fans expected Lesnar’s return in Tampa.
It was believed that he would use his Royal Rumble appearance to set up a program on his Road to WrestleMania.
Many had hoped we would finally see Lesnar versus Gunther, something we have had teased for a year now.
But any chance of seeing Lesnar in the Rumble on Saturday was sunk by his mention in the lawsuit against Vince McMahon.
While nothing has been confirmed or admitted to, Lesnar was effectively named as someone who took part in the abuse alleged by Janel Grant.
As such, WWE wisely opted to not involve the Beast Incarnate on Saturday. Depending on the outcome of the suit, some may wonder if we ever see him in WWE again.
But, just for a moment, let’s believe that he was planned for the Rumble and beyond…
What Brock Lesnar Plans Did We Miss?
According to the Observer, Bron Breakker was given Lesnar’s role within the Rumble.
Now, that is not to say he was given Lesnar’s spot. I contend that WWE should have had plans for Breakker in this year’s Rumble, regardless of Lesnar.
But Meltzer isn’t the only one saying he got the plans that had been done up for Lesnar.
According to POST Wrestling, Breakker did the eliminations and confrontations in a manner that would have been Lesnar’s.
That included being eliminated by Dominik Mysterio, apparently. Lesnar and Mysterio were reportedly slated to work a match at the upcoming Elimination Chamber.
Breakker is adding fuel to that, declaring that the main roster is now his home. He could be joining RAW and chasing down the Judgement Day (purely based on the elimination).
We may know more as soon as the January 29th RAW, at least relative to Bron Breakker. And, be sure to check our RAW results from the past year.
