We are just about on the Road to WrestleMania, and we find ourselves asking…is GUNTHER destined for a major title battle?
This major title battle would be set up by a return that is expected to be happening imminently.
As we covered earlier, the now-annual return of Brock Lesnar, early in a new year, should happen just about at any moment.
And, by any moment, we mean an upcoming RAW possibly. Or, maybe he will be a surprise return during the Rumble itself.
As we’ve seen in the past, the Rumble match sets up a lot for the upcoming months within WWE.
The obvious match being one of the WrestleMania title matches, presumably a main event.
But, other feuds can be driven by what happens during the annual 30 man over-the-top battle royale.
And some expect that to be the case with Brock Lesnar and GUNTHER.
Is GUNTHER Destined For Major Title Battle?
For nearly a year, many fans have been salivating at the idea of a Lesnar-GUNTHER battle.
I mean…they teased us during last year’s match, did they not?
Both men seem to work incredibly stiff. If ever they square off, we can expect it to be a classic slobberknocker.
And, the belief is that it may happen early in 2024, per the Observer. Even as we see teases of Jey Uso wanting GUNTHER’s gold, there are likely bigger battles ahead for the tough Austrian.
What remains to be seen is…would a clash between the two titans indeed be a top draw in Philadelphia?
And…would it involve the Intercontinental Championship?
A match with Lesnar certainly would not need any added bonus of championship gold on the line.
But, considering GUNTHER’s historic reign…do you end it before he battles Lesnar?
Do you have Lesnar end it? Or do you have GUNTHER get a massive win over one of the biggest names in the business?
A big win over Brock Lesnar would put the champ even more over. If that happens, it would be hard to think that GUNTHER isn’t on the short list of Superstars in line for a world title run.
Something many of us expect already.
Either way, regardless of the stakes, if Lesnar-GUNTHER happens on the WrestleMania 40 card…sign me up!
