He is either really good and committed to what he does, or he’s being honest, but either way Pat McAfee claims he was legitimately surprised at the Royal Rumble.

Specifically, he claims he was legitimately surprised when his entrance music hit for the second time of the evening.

You know when. As he was sitting at the ringside announce table, his music hit for his turn in the Rumble.

Now, we’ve seen those kinds of entrants before. Michelle McCool came into the match from her ringside seat just last year.

But, as far as we know, those appearances were planned.

And as far as he’s admitting to…Pat McAfee’s 2024 Royal Rumble appearance was without his prior knowledge.

McAfee spoke on ESPN after his WWE appearances, and Wresting Inc picked it up.

Pat McAfee Was Legitimately Surprised At Royal Rumble

The former NFL punter noted that he was every bit as surprised as the WWE Universe.

McAfee wasn’t dressed to wrestle. When he was announced as the 22nd entrant in the match, he had the massive Omos and dominant Bron Breakker waiting for him.

The media star lasted less than a minute, and in theory he scored one elimination at the same time as he was eliminated.

Because, in case you missed it, he eliminated himself.

McAfee toyed with the idea of climbing in, but noted that he was not dressed, had cowboy boots on and didn’t want to steal someone’s WrestleMania spot.

So, before we could even decide we wanted to dream of a McAfee Tampa miracle, the new voice on RAW got in, and took himself out.

And if you want to check out all the RAW results, look no further.

If indeed McAfee had no idea until the music hit? Then he did one of the funniest bits of wrestling improv in recent memory.

And if that all checks out, it will just add to the growing legend that is Pat McAfee.
