Though he is largely in Hollywood now…John Cena is not retired yet…but he will be soon.

That is, of course, if we take the man at his word.

And while the history of pro wrestling is full of performers who have retired…and retired…and retired some more…there is a reason to trust Cena.

More often than not, he has meant what he has said (just let’s not ask a former Diva about things).

Fans got to enjoy an extended run with Cena in 2023, thanks to the Hollywood strikes that put his main gigs on hold.

However, once the strikes ended, as promised, he went back to work on his projects.

Recently Entertainment Tonight caught up with the former Doctor of Thuganomics while in London promoting a new movie.

And while he was there to push the movie, talk turned to his first job…WWE Superstar.

He was asked about what the future would hold for him in WWE, and how long he has left-if anything.

We all saw his most recent run end, rather distinctly, as he put over rising Superstar Solo Sikoa.

But, Cena was quick to make sure we knew he was not retired.

He will be eventually, but that time has not come just yet.

The 46 year old talent said that he will be retired by age 50.

For those counting along, he turns 47 later in 2024. Meaning, give or take a month or two, we have at most about three years left of John Cena.

Many noted during his surprise extended appearance of 2023 that it quite possibly could be the last major run he had in him.

As with other media stars (like The Rock), Cena’s Hollywood schedule trumps everything else.

Knowing he has an expiration date, I expect we could see him in a few meaningful matches still to come. Plus, he does have that long streak of years he’s wrestled at least one televised match…

Either way…enjoy him while you can, because before long, we really won’t be able to see him.
