After being pulled from the Worlds End event, AEW star Keith Lee is set to undergo double surgeries. More on this story, below.
AEW Star Keith Lee Talks About His Double Surgeries
At Worlds End, Dustin Rhodes filled in for Keith Lee, who was not medically cleared by doctors to compete at the event. Rhodes faced Swerve Strickland and was defeated.
After being removed from the match, Lee hopped on X and posted the above tweet. He also posted something on December 30th, noting he’s been working through an injury since 2022.
According to Haus of Wrestling, Lee posted something on a private social media account. Lee notes in the post that, it “Took roughly 19 years … but I guess it’s my turn. Time to get fixed. Here’s to double surgeries. Certainly, one way to start 2024.”
As of this writing, the AEW star didn’t provide information on when his surgeries were taking place. His timeline around recovery or a return is also unclear.
Keith Lee’s AEW History
Lee was released from the WWE in November 2021. It didn’t take him long to become All Elite, debuting on AEW in February 2022.
It also didn’t take too long after he entered the company to align with Swerve Strickland. Strickland swung in for the “save” when Lee was attacked by Team Taz.
Strickland and Lee became a tag team, shortly after, and had a nice AEW World Tag Title run. Unfortunately, the duo broke up in December 2022.
The two talents had a rivalry for months after that. Still, they never had battled it out in a singles match together.
A bout was finally set for Worlds End, but due to Lee’s injuries, it never ended up happening. On behalf of everyone here, we wish Keith two successful surgeries, plus two smooth recoveries.
