New reports suggest AEW ‘”Worlds End” could be Andrade El Idolo’s final event with the company and he could pop on WWE television as soon as next week.

On Saturday night, AEW will be back on pay-per-view for the final time in 2023. The event from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, NY has a jam-packed card that will feature AEW heavyweight champion MJF defending his championship in his backyard against Samoa Joe.

“Worlds End” will also include the finals of the Continental Classic Tournament and a 20-man battle royale to determine the next challenger to TNT Champion Christian Cage. However, it might also be the final booking for one of the promotion’s top Mexican stars.

In recent weeks it has been reported that Andrade El Idolo’s contract with the company could soon be winding down after having it recently extended following an injury. Well, his final appearance for AEW could come tonight in his matchup at “Worlds End” against Miro, according to Wrestle Purists.

The outlet claims sources within the company believe he will finish out his AEW contract tonight — in what should be a defeat to the husband of his current manager CJ Perry. However, it seems like he won’t be off national television in the United States for very long.

Wrestle Purists also reported that Andrade El Idolo “is also believed by many within AEW to be heading back to WWE. Some think it could happen as soon as the Day 1 RAW.” Fightful Select reported this week that there were rumblings a former champion could make their return to the company at the Day 1 edition of WWE Raw this Monday.

There have been rumors for months that El Idolo was interested in rejoining his wife, WWE great Charlotte Flair, in the company. Returning on a highly promoted edition of Raw to kick off the company’s 2024 schedule would certainly make a major splash around the entire industry.

El Idolo was a former world champion for NXT and previously held the WWE US title several years ago.
