When William Regal makes a big announcement, we need to pay attention.

After all, we have not had a big Regal appearance in a year.

That Regal made such an announcement, on behalf of WWE, is big enough.

If you recall, William Regal departed AEW just around a year ago.

Regal was granted a rare release by Tony Khan. Khan granted the release because the former NXT GM wanted to go back and train his son, Charlie Dempsey.

Keep that in mind, it will come back into play a little bit later.

Part of the condition of Khan granting Regal his AEW release was a unique form of non-compete.

Specifically, Regal was free to go back and work with Triple H and company, but he could not appear on camera for WWE for the period of one year.

And I think based on what is transpiring, that year has run it’s course.

And there is a really new and fresh working agreement between All Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE

Which is pretty big news.

Again, this is important, and we are about to get to that.

William Regal Makes A Big Announcement

As was covered in a few spots, Regal made an announcement which pertains to NXT, AJPW and Charlie Dempsey.

A few important items, if you choose not to watch the just-under-2-minutes video.

First, it’s Regal (calling himself both Lord Steven and William) on camera for NXT. Pretty sure this means his timeout is up.

Wonder what else he might be doing for the brand.

Second, he confirmed that NXT is sending an NXT talent to an AJPW show next week.

Third, the talent is Charlie Dempsey, who he acknowledged publicly for the first time as his son.

Regal ran down the history he and other Euro talents have had with Japan, and how he did, it’s hard not to get excited for what could be coming.
