There are a lot of things up in the air, but could WWE see a big Friday night change?

For years, SmackDown has been on Fridays.

Of course, long-time fans know that the show has moved nights a couple of times over the years, but it’s been pretty locked in on Fridays of late.

And, of course, Mondays belong to RAW.

But, WWE was recently purchased by Endeavor, which also owns the UFC…and with new management tends to come changes.

Some we as fans will never see, but others as fans we will absolutely see.

In recent weeks, we’ve heard key figures within the newly formed TKO speak about the flexibility of WWE.

That has been said in conjunction with the ongoing television rights negotiations.

We know that NXT has a new broadcast home. SmackDown does too.

RAW remains on the table…but will any of them remain on their customary day and time?

Specifically…

The change being floated out there? A possible shift of SmackDown from Fridays to an alternative evening.

It is believed that part of that desire stems from the feeling that Saturdays belong to UFC.

Which, to me, is crazy, but that’s another topic for another time.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the thinking is we would see WWE premium live events on Friday, UFC on Saturday and RAW on Monday, as a bit of a package deal.

Of course, they could also treat such bookings like any other major WWE event, where the company basically sets up camp for a week, running SmackDown on Friday, PLE on Saturday and RAW on Monday.

Except, instead of PLE Saturday, they could also move the PLE back to Sundays, and it would resemble this: Friday SmackDown, Saturday UFC, Sunday PLE, Monday RAW.

Nothing is done yet, of course. And ultimately, if WWE determines that moving a show to a different night is best for business…then you can bet your bottom dollar that such a move is in the cards.
