After delivering an incredible match last Friday, is Axiom making a huge move?

Specifically, is the masked WWE Superstar making the jump from NXT to SmackDown?

He got the “welcome to SmackDown” treatment, and had the honor of working a superb match against recently-promoted Dragon Lee.

The two supremely athletic Superstars work similar styles, so putting them in a match together was destined to wow the crowds.

And, wow us it did.

Is Axiom Making A Huge Move?

Following the unexpected match on SmackDown, there had been no word on if this was a one-off match or something bigger.

According to PWInsider, we may have our answer for now.

It seems that the idea to have Dragon Lee and Axiom work a match only got kicked around Friday morning.

Now, given that he normally works out of Orlando, I tend to think that this isn’t completely honest.

Meaning, I am guessing that WWE have had Axiom (and surely others) traveling with them for certain dark matches. And, as luck would have it, someone decided to give the masked Superstar a televised match.

Assuming you’ve seen that match, you know that the two did not disappoint.

But, impressive as he was, as of this moment, Axiom is still internally listed as part of the NXT roster.

Meaning…he might earn a call-up soon…but he hasn’t earned it just yet.

That being said, if Axiom continues to get opportunities to shine on bigger stages…and continues to seize those moments…a promotion cannot be far off.

Obviously, the company can’t bring specific talents in to only work with other talents because they consistently give us four and five star matches.

But…WWE does happen to have quite a few other Superstars who work a similar style, with whom talents like Axiom and Dragon Lee could have some amazing matches.
