A WWE superstar who has been absent from television recently announced on social media that they just had neck fusion surgery and is in the recovery process. More on this story, below.
WWE Star Hits Social Media To Update Fans
Erik of the Viking Raiders has been out of action for about two months now, dealing with an injury. His long-time partner, Ivar, has still been on TV regularly, although fans know that it just doesn’t feel the same without Erik.
The good news is that Erik hopped on his social media handles recently to update everyone. He notes that he underwent C6/C7 neck fusion surgery and is on the mend.
In the post, seen above, he relays his gratitude and thankfulness to his “amazing” doctor, Dr. Cordover, and the staff at Andrew’s Sports Medicine. He also thanks the WWE for always ensuring he has the “best care possible”.
The Show Must Go On
Despite successful surgery, Erik still has a long road ahead with recovery. He’ll be out of action for some time, so the company has been moving forward by placing Ivar in singles action.
In fact, there’s buzz that backstage staff have been impressed with Ivar’s performances against both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
Valhalla, also known to fans as Sarah Logan, continues to appear by Ivar’s side. Logan also happens to be Erik’s real-life wife, but the “show must go on” in the land of sports entertainment.
The Viking Raiders first debuted with the organization in 2018, when they entered NXT. They got their main roster call-up in the spring of 2019 when they joined Monday Night RAW.
Over the years with the promotion, they’ve made quite an impact. They are former NXT and RAW tag team champions, and Erik was also once a 24/7 titleholder.
