“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair shocked fans of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) when he showed up on Dynamite, very unexpectedly. Now WNZ has an update on his status with the company.
Ric Flair Comments On His AEW Appearance
Naitch debuted in a segment that involved Sting last night. As AEW President Tony Khan promised the Stinger a retirement gift, it seems Flair was that very present, walking down the aisle to greet his friend and long-time NWA/WCW rival.
Many fans have speculated as to whether The Nature Boy’s appearance last night was a one-off or a regular thing in AEW, moving forward. Well, viewers don’t need to wonder for that much longer.
As posted above, Naitch sent out a tweet earlier today. As he’s “ready” to take this AEW journey, looks like The Nature Boy will be around All Elite Wrestling on a regular basis.
Flair Is Here For Sting’s Final Run
Sting announced his retirement last week. He’s told fans his final match will take place at AEW’s 2024 Revolution event.
As this is the Stinger’s final run, it’ll be nice for him to have The Nature Boy, by his side. During the Naitch/Sting segment, Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Luchasaurus interrupted things.
In the end, a six-man tag match was set for the Full Gear event. However, it’s unclear if Naitch would join Darby Allin and Sting for the bout.
They did approach Adam Copeland. However, he’s still not agreeing to fight his former friend.
At the age of 74, it seems unlikely the Nature Boy would step into the ring. Still, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer can’t seem to get wrestling out of his blood, as he did have a “retirement” match in the summer of 2022.
Naitch will likely act as a manager-type to Sting. It’ll be interesting to see him ride by Sting’s side during his last wrestling wave in AEW.
