Nick Aldis has not officially signed with WWE, but he will appear on SmackDown tonight and here is his latest status with the world’s top wrestling promotion.
Nick Aldis To Appear On WWE SmackDown As Authority Figure?
With Fastlane over, WWE will now long to build towards to next month’s Crown Jewel and then Survivor Series. Look for some big names to appear as we get closer to WrestleMania season.
Apparently, a somewhat familiar name will be on WWE TV tonight. PW Insider noted that Nick Aldis is set to appear on SmackDown.
As of now, WWE has not confirmed Aldis’ role in the company. Although, he is expected to portray an authority figure on TV.
It sounds like his arrival could be Triple H’s big announcement. We will know shortly if that is the idea.
Perhaps, Aldis can be the figurehead for SmackDown with Adam Pearce keeping his role on RAW.
Regardless, tonight’s SmackDown should be rather big as Roman Reigns returns after two months away.
Nick Aldis has been working behind the scenes for WWE the past few months. It remains to be seen if WWE will sign the 36 year old wrestler.
Last we heard, he was still in a trial period as a backstage producer.
Aldis is best known for his time in Impact Wrestling and NWA. For both promotions, he was their World Champion.
He retuned to Impact Wrestling over the summer, but left after losing a program to Alex Shelly. He has not been with the NWA for about a year; leaving after not agreeing to the new direction the company was headed.
Nick Aldis might also be known to some fans as the husband of Mickie James. Together, they have a son.
