It may not have been super obvious, but we do have a couple of AEW stars upset with a segment from Saturday’s Collision.
And to be honest, having watched the segment a few times, you could get the sense that the segment didn’t go as planned.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the exchange between Adam Copeland and Ricky Starks did not go as expected, leaving both talents upset with what was said.
Yes, segments can and often do go off script-if there even is one.
Per the report, things went off the rails and got a bit too personal, and both Copeland and Starks were said to be upset with how the exchange went down.

You can see it as the exchange unfolds that some things were said that didn’t sit with with either person.
What triggered that or why remains a question, though with the way things work, we may eventually find out.
Sometimes, someone decides they need to be just a bit edgier, and they go a tad too far off script.
Regardless of who went off script first, and in spite of some awkwardness, the segment did wrap up without devolving into a complete and utter disaster.
Copeland, the former Edge, can hold his own on the mic (though I wouldn’t say he is one of the top few from his generation to do it.
Starks can hold his own too, so having the two men talk it out should, most times, lead to a pretty smooth and entertaining exchange.
Perphaps it was nerves, perhaps it was a lack of familiarity between them, but something made this one go sideways.
Given all involved, it seems likely whatever was the root cause will get fixed and things should be fine moving forward.
