Lacey Evans is officially no longer a part of the WWE. According to reports, her contract ended this past week on August 15th. A recent report reveals a possible reason “why” the two parted ways.
The Reason Behind Lacey Evans’ WWE Exit
Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio recently chimed in on why the female star parted ways with the WWE. He notes that when she was in NXT and was called up to the main roster, she received a massive push at first.
Meltzer went on to say that she then got weekly vignettes and zero push. Dave states it was “crazy” how this happened, but her lack of exposure had to do with Vince McMahon leaving the company in the summer of 2022.
Vince was apparently her “biggest” supporter. When he stepped away from creative last July, and Triple H stepped in as the lead, her TV time was reduced.
Earlier in 2023, her gimmick was repackaged with a military feel similar to Sgt. Slaughter’s. Unfortunately, it only resulted in some “squash” wins.
Dave notes that the female talent lost her three last TV bouts, with the final one airing on the Blue brand this past June. Sadly, she ended her WWE run on a low note.
Lacey Evans’ History With The WWE
The start signed with the WWE in 2016 and participated in the Mae Young Classic in 2017. She was called up to the main roster in 2019 and drew #1 that year in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
Sadly, she never had a title run in the WWE or NXT, for that matter. However, she did make history with Nattie Neidhart as the two faced off in the first-ever WWE Women’s match in Saudi Arabia, in October 2019 during the Crown Jewel event.
