Rob Van Dam (RVD) made a surprise debut during this week’s AEW Dynamite 200th episode. So, what’s his relationship with the WWE now? A new report offers insight.

Details On Rob Van Dam’s AEW Deal

RVD came face to face with FTW Champion, Jack Perry during his AEW debut. A match between the two is set for next week’s Dynamite.

According to PWInsider, RVD currently has a short-term deal with AEW. He’s only slated for one match, which is against Jack Perry.

Rob Van Dam’s Status With WWE

In the report, it was noted that his relationship with the WWE is likely still okay as he’s advertised for their WrestleMania 40 weekend packages. Next year’s Grandest Stage Of Them All takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Lincoln Financial Field on April 6th and 7th, 2024.

In other interesting news, RVD’s wife, Katie Forbes was at Dynamite, too. However, it seems she did not appear onscreen with her hubby.

It’s important to note, the wrestling legend strolled to the ring to Pantera’s “Walk”, reminiscent of his ECW days. When he was with the WWE, his entrance theme song was “One of a Kind”.

RVD entered the WWE during the “invasion” storyline in the early 2000s. He spent six years there from 2001 to 2007 and had a brief run from 2013 to 2014.

The legend accomplished a lot during his tenure with the company, during that first run. As a Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion, RVD held the WWE title, ECW World Championship, the European title, the Hardcore Championship, the IC title, and was a three-time Tag Team Champion.

In addition, he was also the 2006 Mr. Money in the Bank. This makes it no surprise that he was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, in 2021.
