One of the more unexpectedly good hires, does Pat McAfee want a WWE return?
The man is, after all, in serious demand.
He has a tremendously popular show, which is picking up again on ESPN next month.
Before heading back to ESPN for the Pat McAfee Show…well…where hasn’t he been?
College Game Day? Check.
NXT as both an in-ring and ringside performer? Absolutely.
We’ve seen him on the biggest and grandest stages, and we know one thing.
McAfee is one of the best on commentary, and fans miss him.

But is that feeling mutual? After all, McAfee has tons on his plate and do just about anything he wants.
Does Pat McAfee Want A WWE Return?
In a word…yes.
This is always easier said than done, but when a fan asked the former NFL punter if he wanted to get back to WWE.
His response didn’t really mince words.
Yes, he wants to come back, and he will come back…it’s just a matter of time.
But, relative to those wonderful logistics? “We will figure it out”.
Simple enough, and as we’ve seen with his last surprise appearance (at January’s Royal Rumble), McAfee will do what he can, when he can.
And when he does show up, whether a one-off or for something longer, fans and Michael Cole will go bananas for it.
If you had any doubt about McAfee’s impact, you haven’t been paying close attention to the announce teams.
WWE recently shuffled things again, and while Michael Cole is an all-time great, McAfee has been tough to replace.
While it does not seem like a full-time return to WWE is in the cards (we can dream), the fact that WWE no doubt wants it, and McAfee does too, keeps things open.
It wouldn’t surprise me if we see him used as a special event type attraction-Rumble, WrestleMania and the like.
As talented as he is, and as much chemistry as he has with Cole, any time he returns it’s as if he never left.
