Has Dakota Kai Been Cleared By Doctors For WWE Return?

Last year, Bayley returned from injury at SummerSlam and she was not alone. With her came Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.

The stable, going by Damage CTRL, was a complete shock. Bayley had been out for a year healing, while Sky had not been seen on NXT TV in months. As for Kai, she was actually released months earlier.

Fast-forward to Saturday’s SummerSlam and Damage CTRL won their first title. Sky successfully cashed-in her Money in the Bank contract on Bianca Belair, who just regained the belt moments earlier.

After the win, Sky and Bayley celebrated. Not much later, Kai made her way out as the three embraced.

During the press conference following SummerSlam, Dakota Kai indicated she is not cleared to compete.

“I just had to be here for IYO Sky tonight,” said Dakota Kai. “I’m still a ways a way from being in-ring cleared, but I had to be here tonight.”

“It was a crazy accomplishment for her as representing Damage CTRL. 2024 is going to be crazy.”

In May, Kai tore the ACL in her knee during a SmackDown match, which also saw Liv Morgan get injured. For Kai, she could miss around a year of action.

Before going under the knife, it seemed like WWE was preparing to split Damage CTRL. Now, especially considering what happened at SummerSlam, the group looks strong despite being down a member.

Although, WWE might be preparing for Bayley to challenge Sky for her newly won title. First, Bayley needs to deal with Shotzi Blackheart.
