After AEW Collision went off the air, CM Punk was caught having a moment with David Benoit, who is the son of late, Chris Benoit.

Inside the ring, Chris Benoit might be considered one of the best. Then, everything changed 15 years ago. 

In the span of three days, he killed his young son, wife and then himself. As a result, WWE completely removed Chris from their history books.

Some point the blame at steroids or Chris’ brain being so damaged from years of abuse inside the ring. It really does not matter as Chris will forever be considered a horrible person for his disgusting actions.

Before his passing, WWE booked Chris against Punk at Night of Champions for the vacant ECW Championship. Once Chris no-showed, WWE had John Morrison defeat Punk for the title.

All this time later and David Benoit has been spotted at AEW shows and backstage for WWE events. Neither company has made an official announcement about his presence.

Saturday’s AEW Collision saw the finals of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. On the men’s side, Ricky Starks defeated Punk thanks to some late cheating. It appears AEW is going to have Starks turn heel once again.

After the show concluded, Punk shared a moment with David Benoit. As seen, Punk put his arm around Benoit and said something.

Now, David should not be penalized because of his father. If he wants to try pro wrestling, then he should be given an opportunity. Whether he does ever sign for WWE or AEW, it might be best if his name is changed and the company only once speaks about his family’s past.
