The AEW tag team of Ortiz and Santana debuted in 2019. Their last match was in June 2022, but it looks like they may be reuniting.
Ortiz & Santana Coming Back Together
After their AEW debut, it didn’t take long for Ortiz and Santana to join Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Jake Hagar. The group formed the Inner Circle faction and dominated the promotion for over two years.
However, much like many stables before them, conflicts lead to the disbandment of the group. The tag team walked away from the faction and dove into an explosive program with their former stable mates.
The feud culminated at AEW Blood and Guts on June 29th, 2022. The two were joined by the Blackpool Combat Club (Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, and Jon Moxley) and ended up defeating The Jericho Appreciation Society, comprised of Jericho, Hager, Guevara, Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and Daniel Garcia.
That Blood and Guts match was the last time the twosome wrestled together as a tag team. Still, it looks like a reunion is on the horizon.
AEW Updates Its Website, With The Tag Team “Together”
AEW recently updated its site, and the two talents are listed together. They are part of a tag team called, “Proud and Powerful”.
This may imply that the duo is reuniting and returning to television, shortly. It’s interesting to note that some reports revealed after the June 2022 Blood and Guts bout that the tag team was not getting along.
In fact, during a Keeping It 100 podcast episode, wrestling legend Konnan confirmed that the two were “not” on good terms. He worked with the duo during their time on Impact Wrestling as their manager.
Has the team settled their differences? Only time will tell.
