He was a popular talent for a while, but reports unsure about Superstar contract could be cause for concern.
Specifically, Elias is the talent in question, and he’s been somewhat missing in action.
While he was busy in 2022 running as Ezekiel for a while-something fans dug, but eventually ended…2023 has not been so good.
We’ve seen Elias work with Rick Boogs a bit, most notably…but that seems to have fizzled out, and now the musically talented Superstar is just not seen.
That got Fightful to do some digging about his contract status, and it’s murky at best.
Reports Unsure About Superstar Contract
According to some reports, there was belief that Elias’ contract was set to expire late in 2022.
We’ve seen him in WWE in 2023, of course…but there’s been no word about any form of new contract.
Big Push Is Planned For Pretty Deadly
The uncertainty here is…did WWE tack on a few extra months to Elias’ WWE contract, allowing him to work some of 2023 under contract?
Or has he quietly signed a new deal, and he’s just off television at the moment for one reason or another?
The answer currently is…we just don’t know.
Some are already thinking Elias is gone…or will be if/when the company cuts some talent in the future.
Elias had perhaps his best success while in NXT, and then earlier in his run on the main roster.
The hottest he’s been in the last few years, as best I can tell, was as Ezekiel. It was fresh and funny and cheesy and it just worked.
Now, you have to wonder what could be next for Elias. He’s certainly got talent to work in the ring on RAW or SmackDown…or even NXT.
With plenty of Superstars drifting back and forth, could we see another NXT alum in the form of Elias head to Florida to re-find himself?
That might not happen, but it also isn’t the worst idea either.
But, for the time being, reports unsure about Superstar contract is all we have to go on, all while wanting to Walk With Elias.
