Lance Archer Sends A Stern Warning To AEW During Hiatus

Lance Archer came into AEW and was quickly pushed towards the top. While no longer in the main event scene, he has frequently challenged some of the top AEW wrestlers.

This includes two matches where he unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW World Championship. Both matches where bloody, as he lost to Jon Moxley and “Hangman” Adam Page.

Although, Archer has not competed much for AEW this year. In fact, he only wrestled 10 matches and the last one dates back to late February.

He did work the recent New Japan Pro Wrestling Dominion event, where Will Ospreay won in the finals. As a result, Ospreay will take on IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door 2.

After the match, in a backstage interview, Archer revealed he has been dealing with a torn tricep. In the interview, Lance Archer sends a stern warning to AEW and fans who he felt have been disrespectful.

“2023 hasn’t been the best year for me,” said Archer. “The amount of disrespect that I feel all over the world right now, it’s unprecedented and it pisses me off.”

“Nearly 23 years in this business, one of the best, if not the best big man to step in the f—ing ring. Hey, AEW this message is for you, New Japan Pro Wrestling this message is for you.”

“Every f—ing mark around the world this message is for you. There’s a reason I haven’t been wrestling a lot and it has nothing to do with bad booking, you dumb s—s. What everyone doesn’t realize is that I’ve been battling a torn tricep.”

When healthy, “The Murderhawk Monster” has been booked very well. His time in WWE was not great, but he made a name for himself in Japan and that carried into AEW.

Plus, having Jake “The Snake” Roberts in your corner as the mouthpiece only helps. Neither have been seen in awhile, but with AEW adding a new show later in the month, more talent will be featured on TV.

So, after Lance Archer sends a stern warning to promoters and fans, will he be better booked once is healthy?
