According to a new report, AEW star “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry will be moving away from his babyface character and turning heel.

Jungle Boy On The Cusp Of  A Heel Turn

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer reveals during a recent edition that Jack Perry could be turning heel. Will this happen during AEW’s Forbidden Door event this weekend?

The report notes that Perry has teased a heel turn coming soon. During the June 14th edition of Dynamite, Perry asked his new bestie, HOOK to be in his corner for the pay-per-view (PPV) match.

The delivery of the promo seems and his tone of voice hinted he’s got some sinister motives in mind. Plus, during Double or Nothing’s PPV, Jack looked like he was going to attack Darby Allin, but nothing happened.

In other related news, Disco Inferno recently called for Jungle Boy to turn heel during an epi of Keeping It 100. Disco thinks that in doing so, Perry could find more personality for his character as right now he’s “boring” as a face.

Inferno also suggested giving Jack a manager to “unleash” some personality or turning heel. Only time will tell which way the star goes.

The AEW star is set to face SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight title at this weekend’s AEW x New Japan Pro Wrestling Forbidden Door PPV. Turning heel would create quite the buzz.

Jack Perry’s Time With AEW

At the age of 26, Jack Perry has had quite a wrestling career so far. He started on the indie circuit in 2015, at the age of 18.

He became All Elite, debuting in the promotion in 2019. During his four years with AEW, Perry has been a World Tag Team Champion (with Luchasaurus) and won the 2021 Men’s Casino Battle Royal.

He could be destined for big things. Maybe a heel turn can help ramp up some momentum for the young star.
