Robert Roode is upbeat, even after undergoing neck fusion surgery for the second time within the last year.
Robert Roode Is Upbeat Despite Neck Surgery Number 2
Somehow, Robert Roode is upbeat even as his pro wrestling career remains uncertain. Days ago, Roode revealed on social media how he is having neck fusion surgery.
The surgery took place Thursday, which is the same day he turned 47 years told. It marks the second time within the last twelve months Roode has gone under the knife for the same operation
On Instagram, Roode posted the following:
“Around the sun and another trip to Birmingham, Alabama. Quite a way to celebrate my birthday,” Roode wrote. “Had a C4/5 cervical fusion to go along with the C5/6 fusion back in November. Most importantly it was a success thanks to the man himself, Dr. Andy Cordover, and the first class staff here at Andrews Sports Medicine … It’s been a challenging year to say the least. Road to recovery part 2!”
It has been close to a year since Roode last wrestled a WWE match. Typically, that type of surgery puts someone on the shelf for about a year.
With him requiring the same surgery again, this could signal the end of his active days as a wrestler. There are not many wrestlers under the WWE umbrella who are 47 years old.
Before WWE, Roode made a name for himself in Impact Wresting. Before winning the Impact World Championship, he was part of a successful tag team called Beer Money with James Storm.
After departing Impact Wrestling, he was briefly sent to NXT. He won the NXT Championship before being promoted to the main roster.
On the main roster, he held tag team gold on both brands with Dolph Ziggler. Also, he was briefly the 24/7 Champion and United States Champion as well.
Hopefully, Roode is able to return inside the ring. If not, he could be very helpful behind the scenes.
So, somehow Robert Roode is upbeat despite neck surgery number 2, but does it signal the end of his in-ring career?
