In the ongoing saga between CM Punk and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a new report reveals that the promotion recently sent a legal letter to the star. More on this story, below.
AEW Warns Legal Action On CM Punk
According to the former President of Wrestling Inc., Raj Giri, AEW sent a legal notice to the talent this past weekend. It notes that Punk was warned to comply with the contents of the letter, or the company will file a suit against him.
This was revealed during a Twitter Space with BackupHangman of WrestlePurists and Giri. This comes after relations between the wrestling promotion and the star took a turn last week.
The expectation was that Punk would make a return to All Elite during the debut of Collision, AEW’s new Saturday brand show. The launch of this series is on June 17th and is taking place at Chicago’s United Center.
His comeback and a bout against Samoa Joe were supposed to be announced with Collision’s launch on May 17th. Sadly, the talent was taken out of all promo materials before the announcement.

Details came out that AEW had re-signed Ace Steel, a close friend of the talent. Steel was set to work within creative.

Irate CM Punk Off Collision?
There was an understanding that Ace would head back on the road with the company after Collision was launched. AEW told the star on May 16th that Steel was not going on the road, and this has created issues with the two parties involved.

The way things stand now is that AEW does have a “backup” location for Collision’s debut, which is Jacksonville, Florida’s Daily’s Place. Warner Bros. Discovery is hoping there can be some sort of resolution between Punk and AEW before Wednesday’s announcement of the new show.
