Major Update Emerges On Rumored John Cena Vs. CM Punk Match: Will It Happen At Money In The Bank?

A rumored match between John Cena and CM Punk is a near lock to happen during his retirement tour. But it is unlikely to occur next month at Money in the Bank.

There had been speculation that a potential Cena vs. Punk match might happen at the 2025 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. However, according to a new report by PW Insider, WWE sources have hinted that the marquee match is currently not the plan for the upcoming PLE. Although they are keen for the bout to happen “when the timing is right.”

Furthermore, the report reveals the Stamford-based promotion is reportedly keeping its hopes up about the availability of popular rapper Travis Scott for the event. He last appeared at WrestleMania 41 and assisted John Cena in dethroning Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Moreover, previous reports hinted that pitches had been made for Scott and Cena to compete in a tag team match. He has been undergoing in-ring training with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and likely will compete in the ring at some point.

As for Cena, he is still on the path of ruining wrestling on his farewell tour. The Unseen 17 went to war against his iconic rival, Randy Orton, for the last time at WWE Backlash PLE. Following an exceptional showdown that led to chaos erupting, Cena used a low-blow and a timely use of the belt to defeat Orton and retain his championship.
