We’ve been hearing about her for months, and now new Superstar Giulia could have a massive debut in NXT in just a couple of months.
More: WWE and Japanese Talent Giulia Have Come To Terms
We have no big press release. There is not quite the buzz of a Jade Cargill. However WWE and Giulia were said to have agreed to terms around the time of WrestleMania 40. She was shown in Philadelphia at the NXT live event, and the fans popped nicely for that appearance. WWE does not tend to do that if things are not signed, sealed and delivered. Of course, we have not seen anything else, and we’ve not seen Giulia in NXT or WWE yet either.
Reports indicate that Giulia is expected to make her NXT debut at July’s Heatwave special event. That’s been the suggested plan for a bit now. Part of that timing is owed to WWE allowing her to work with longtime promoter and friend Rossy Ogawa as he stands up the new promotion MARIGOLD. The pair was previously with STARDOM. Now Ogawa has been forced to move on. Before we see her work a match in WWE, she is set to help her previous promoter.
NXT’s next big thing?
According to Fighful, based on knowledge that Giulia would be helping MARIGOLD, she would begin work with WWE by way of NXT in July.A July debut allows Giulia to complete MARIGOLD commitments. But a new report from the reliable source calls that into some question. Giulia is slated for an Ogawa event on July 13. However, Heatwave is set for July 7. Corey Brennan of Fightful reiterated that, as of now, the dates and plans are still on target. What’s more, WWE have identified just who Giulia would debut against. Meaning, her NXT in ring debut won’t just be her walking out and saying hi. Rather, it is currently the plan that she would take on Roxanne Perez.
Right now, Perez holds the NXT Women’s Championship. And, considering the hype about Giulia and what she has done internationally? It is hard to sit here and imagine her debuting in NXT against anyone and losing. Does that mean that Shawn Michaels and WWE creative folks have a vision to immediately make the Japanese import the NXT Champion? Could there be more layers to her debut? Either way, Heatwave is shaping up to be a must-see event.
