WWE is always looking at NXT for the next wrestlers ready to join RAW or SmackDown. Sometimes, those superstars get massive pushes like Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. Then, there are those who were better off in NXT like DIY’s Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. It is one thing to be featured at the top in NXT, but the main roster is a different game.

We are seeing Giovanni Vinci’s WWE run not going great. He was moved from NXT to SmackDown, where he was part of Imperium. The group consisted of Vinci, Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther. Eventually, Vinci was booted from the group and repackaged to his NXT gimmick. So far, all he has done is lose and in spectacular fashion.

During a Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp went over Giovanni Vinci’s current run. “I haven’t heard of him being in the doghouse,” said Sapp. “But I haven’t heard of any major plans for him, either. They didn’t have significant plans for him anyways.” Therefore, it has people wondering why bother keeping him on the main roster without any storylines. Honestly, he would have been better off returning to NXT to sharpen his skills and gimmick.

We know Gunther can wrestle and the current World Heavyweight Champion will be at the top of WWE until he retires. Ludwig is getting a decent singles push. That leaves Vinci as the odd person out. If anything, WWE should have allowed Ludwig and Vinci to feud for at least a month considering how long Imperium was around. So, did WWE drop the ball with Giovanni Vinci?
