A new report claims WWE superstar Roman Reigns is nowhere close to making his return to television.
Reigns was last seen on the May 14 episode of WWE Raw, the night after WrestleMania. There, he and CM Punk tried to confront Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman following the latter’s betrayal the night before. The segment ended with Rollins and Bron Breakker attacking the OTC. The moment was meant to write him off TV for a bit. But it looks like the wait for his fans is going to continue for a while longer.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said WWE is intentionally holding off on Reigns’ return. “I guess no Roman Reigns, they’re probably saving that for later. Roman Reigns isn’t coming back for a while. Exactly when, I’m not sure. But it’s not going to be for a while.”
He also noted Reigns won’t be at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and the current schedule may be playing into the timeline.
“That’s the Saturday Night Main Event, and that’s another weekend where they’re going to be running. They have the Saturday Night’s Main Event, and then they’re going to follow with the NXT show. The Saturday Night’s Main Event will be the same day as All In: Texas, and then the NXT show will be the next day,” Meltzer said. “That next weekend is going to be a loaded, a really loaded weekend of shows.”
Although WWE hasn’t officially announced a return date, multiple reports have suggested Reigns could be back for Money in the Bank on June 7. In the meantime, Rollins and Breakker will face CM Punk and Sami Zayn at Saturday Night’s Main Event to further the post-WrestleMania story.
