Quick Results:

  • Jimmy Uso outsmarted Carmelo Hayes to get the win.
  • Michin defeats Chelsea Green via DQ when the champ used the Singapore cane.
  • Motor City Machine Guns & Berto and Angel defeat DIY and Pretty Deadly.
  • Naomi gets a big win over Liv Morgan.
  • Andrade defeats The Miz
  • Damian Priest and LA Knight defeat Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu

Best Match:

Miz and Andrade got the crowd to chant “this is awesome”, and it was definitely really good.

The eight man tag was crazy, it was chaotic, and it was really good.

The main event tag was fun too. Take your pic, I think all three are worthy.

Worst Match:

Disappointed that Michin keeps winning but not decisively. Either let Chelsea win clean and end this mini-feud, or have Michin claim the United States Championship and progress things.

Noteworthy Moments:

R-Truth told Priest “welcome to RAW“. Also said that Adam Pearce now has hair and a distinguished British accent.

Like Priest told Truth…never change.

Holy Sh!@ Moments:

Andrade certainly appeared to knock a tooth clean out of Miz’s mouth delivering that spinning back fist, which gave him the win.

How about that clash between Priest and Jacob Fatu?

Lowlights:

For me, the lowlight is a simple one. This is my final piece for the site. Maybe for now, perhaps forever, but for me there isn’t currently a next piece in sight. It’s been a long and crazy ride-when I think back and do the math, the reality is that, as far as jobs go, spending nearly 15 years working on WrestleNewz and it’s variants? It is the longest I’ve been a part of one organization.

Thanks for reading.

Nice way to have Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on the show, and you could tell Pat was stoked about having SmackDown-and the Rumble-in his adopted home town.

After My Final Bell:

Not that I wanted to end it, but ending it with another good SmackDown is not a bad way to close this chapter for me

Tomorrow is the Rumble. Honestly, it’s crazy to say this, but it will be the first PLE I’ve watched without writing about it in 15 years. Meaning, the last time I was able to just watch a PLE, they were called PPVs. And without the network, I didn’t watch every one like I do now. Crazy to think about how much WWE-and professional wrestling-has changed since then.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s just…see you next time.
