A lot has been said about her, and she hasn’t arrived yet-and now we have learned that WWE requested new Superstar Giulia to undergo surgery for a recent injury.

More: Giulia Set For Massive Debut?

Giulia could be the hottest Japanese talent to hit WWE since Asuka. We’ve already heard reports that she was slated to land a debut NXT title shot at Heatwave in July. Whispers have us believing that WWE plans to push her in a big way. Supposedly, as much as-or possibly even more than they did for Asuka. Considering that the Empress of Tomorrow buzzed through her time in NXT undefeated? That’s a big deal.

Not so fast!

But her NXT debut might be delayed, with good reason. Giulia rose to fame with Stardom alongside promoter Rossy Ogawa. He is just launching a new promotion, Marigold. Due to the friendship between the two, and WWE’s smarts, the company allowed Giulia to help Rossy get Marigold off the ground. That included some of the new promotion’s early dates. And it was at one of those events where Giulia suffered a broken wrist. Early reports made the injury sound not as bad as initially feared. So much so that Giulia was considering wrestling through the injury, and it was believed that her NXT Heatwave debut would still happen as planned.

But, according to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials stepped in. Per Meltzer, it is believed that officials urged one of their newest and biggest signings to undergo surgery to help the broken wrist heal up faster and better. If true, you can understand any promotion wanting to protect such a promising talent. Wrestling with the injury could have risked more serious damage-with a longer recovery time. Based on this news, it will be interesting to see if WWE still plans a Heatwave title match debut for Giulia, or if we get it down the road. For now, WWE it seems is watching out for new Superstar Giulia by pushing the surgery.
