With a nickname of The Prodigy, the young Superstar had a lot to live up to. And she’s done that and more, exceeding just about every expectation one could have for one of the younger Superstars on the WWE roster. She’s been with WWE just a couple of years, yet she’s performing at a level beyond her years. She joined NXT with a great deal of indy experience and she has only continued to build on that. I mean, think about it this way: Perez is on her 2nd NXT Championship reign, and she doesn’t turn 23 until November.

The Prodigy Indeed

So, it should not need to be said, but WWE officials are thrilled with the NXT Champion, per Fightful. Some had thought that she might make a big jump to RAW or SmackDown. Instead, plans were to have Perez stay with NXT and continue to develop her current heel persona. Plus, knowing that a number of NXT Superstars headed to new brands, Perez was seen as someone who could bridge the gap until the younger talent was ready. Yes, as just 22, WWE officials view her as a valuable veteran in that regard.

What remains to be seen is how much longer Roxanne Perez can continue her second reign as champion. Highly touted new Superstar Giulia is finally on the scene and has issued a challenge. And, there are talented women coming in, meaning competition is only going to get tougher. Thus far, however, Perez has more than risen to the occasion. With RAW moving to Netflix in 2025, and SmackDown in a new home as of Friday, there will be chances for surprise debuts. It seems likely that at some point, sooner than later, Roxanne Perez will get to wow much bigger crowds on a regular basis, and it will no longer be NXT’s Perez. So, is NXT Champion Roxanne Perez ready for the main roster?
