Ever wondered how WWE stars can somehow be hiding underneath the ring without being seen and make a surprise appearance? During a recent interview, former WWE champ Jinder Mahal revealed the secret behind the company’s favorite element of surprise.
WWE has been able to turn professional wrestling into a global phenomenon by making the industry seem larger than life. With the use of cool music, amazing costumes and gear, lighting, and pyrotechnics, the company creates content that is wrestling meets Hollywood.

Another fun tool the company loves to use is the element of surprise. Where wrestlers make unexpected appearances to violently progress ongoing storylines. One strategy WWE has used for decades is performers unexpectedly showing up from under the ring.
For years, wrestling fans have speculated on how the company can get wrestlers under the ring without being seen. Well, former WWE champion Jinder Mahal, AKA Raj Dhesi, pulled back the curtain during a recent interview this week with fellow WWE alum Maven.
Jinder Mahal explains how WWE secretly sneaks wrestlers under the rings during events
“When we’re in a commercial break [or] maybe when there is a video package playing, all the lights in the arena go dark,” Mahal said. “Throughout the night the ring crew is coming out to change something. Generally, you can sneak under there without anybody noticing. I’ve done that a bunch of times.”
“Underneath the ring, it’s called a bed. There’s a little mat there, and there is a gentleman by the name of Nick Daw who is under there with a monitor. They have got water bottles down there, they’ve got Diet Cokes, Red Bulls. So you have your bed, you’ve got your monitor, and Nick actually has a headset to the producers.” (h/t Cultaholic)
The long-time WWE performer was released from the company in April of last year. He has been performing on the independent scene since and he recently won the AAA tag team titles with AEW wrestler Satnam Singh.
