Former Member Of WWE Creative Makes Bold Prediction For Rhea Ripley Vs. Liv Morgan Match At Raw Netflix Debut

One of the main attractions for WWE Raw’s debut on Netflix is the Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. And one former member of WWE Creative believes the former champion will be taking a big L on Jan. 6.

The rivalry between Morgan and Ripley has been heating up since April 2024, when in SummerSlam, Dominik Mysterio betrayed Ripley to help Morgan keep her title. Ripley and her team last met Morgan and her team at Survivor Series 2024, when Ripley’s team won a WarGames match. In the most recent singles match at WWE Bad Blood 2024, Ripley won by disqualification.

On the Writing with Russo podcast this week, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo shared his thoughts on the upcoming match. And Russo predicted that Liv Morgan would retain since Ripley is already a fan favorite who doesn’t need the title to stay popular. He added Morgan really benefits more from being champion and that WWE should protect Ripley but still let Morgan keep the title:

“I think you know, Rhea Ripley is super over with the people,” Russo said. “She don’t need the belt, you know. Liv does. Liv, that belt and that title really helps Liv. Rhea Ripley will remain over whether or not she wins the title. She doesn’t need the title. They just need to protect her in this match. But I think, I mean, they should keep the title on Liv.”

On another note, Liv Morgan could also keep the belt because of the tension with her partner, Raquel Rodriguez. Raquel assisted Morgan at Bad Blood 2024 and has since sided with The Judgment Day but it’s rumored she might turn on both Liv and the faction.

If Raquel did use what she’s learned of Morgan’s weaknesses to set up her own title shot, a betrayal could fuel a rivalry between the two that ends up being a great storyline. It would make it a more interesting match and if Morgan keeps the title, it could set up a juicy feud to WrestleMania 41.

There’s going to be plenty of action at Netflix-Raw’s debut show. Along with the Women’s World Championship match, Roman Reigns will also face Solo Sikoa in a tribal combat match for the Ula Fala necklace. Plus, CM Punk and Seth Rollins will also come face to face for the first time ever in an anticipated grudge match, which will headline the event.
