Damian Priest has been a busy Superstar, and he now has a shot to take his title back from GUNTHER. But the former champion was on a podcast recently and had some interesting comments to throw out there.
Following the betrayal he and Rhea Ripley endured at SummerSlam, Priest and fellow Terror Twin Rhea Ripley were gunning for Dirty Dom and Liv Morgan. Once the faces were victorious, the twins basically went their own ways. Some might suspect it was a bit too quick to split them up, but I digress.
Damian Priest makes a bold claim

On that podcast appearance, Priest was open about his one time mixed tag team partner. And more specifically, how much success they could have. While just a month or so back, Priest was open about things between him and Ripley being over, now I have my doubts. On one hand, Damian Priest believes that he and Rhea could actually win a pair of WWE tag team titles, if the company would allow them the chance. Hard to argue with him, honestly.
As unlikely as that title change seems, the former Judgement Day member offered a nice alternative. Not all that long ago, WWE gave us the unique Mixed Match Challenge. It afforded some unique pairings of a male and female Superstar. If Priest got his wish, WWE could bring that back-but also bring with it mixed tag titles. Which, naturally, he believes he and Rhea would dominate.
It’s something interesting to think about. On one hand, people say WWE already has enough belts. But on the other, the women need their own 2nd tier titles (which are seemingly constantly rumored to be “coming soon”). But if WWE did revive the mixed match idea? It would give women another title, and it would be more content for some platform or other. Or, not unlike what the company did with the Speed titles.
