Kevin Nash believes there is one particular WWE legend that stands above the rest as the best wrestler of all time. However, it’s surprisingly not pal Shawn Michaels or former rival Bret Hart.
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has seen many amazing in-ring performers during his career. The multi-time world champion watched and competed against legends in WWE, WCW, and TNA at peak periods for those brands. Special talents like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Ric Flair, Michaels, and Hart.
The latter two are often at the top of most fans’ lists when it comes to discussions about who are the best mat technicians and storytellers inside the ring. Nash has an extensive history with both in and out of the ring. It would be no surprise if he felt either was the best wrestler he has ever seen.
However, during a recent edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, he pointed to a different WWE legend as the most gifted in-ring talent he has ever witnessed.
Kevin Nash calls Kurt Angles the ‘greatest worker ever’
“I think Kurt [Angle] is the greatest worker that has ever been in the business,” Nash said. “Nobody had more 30-minute matches. People just don’t; I guess they weren’t privy to his run at TNA because it’s not out there on the [WWE] Network.
“That TNA era, with the AJ’s, the Alex Shelleys, [Chris] Sabins, Homicide, there was so much talent in that locker room and so much talent in that six-sided ring. I just don’t think that people, that era of wrestling and TNA gets enough — what’s the term they use — they don’t get their flowers.”
Angle put together a Hall-of-Fame resume in WWE before he departed the company in 2006. However, many believe he was the best version of himself and had many of his top matches in TNA. He won every title the brand had over his ten-year run and helped elevate the company to heights it had never reached.
Along with Hart and Michels, he is also near the top of many fans’ lists of the best professional wrestler of all time.
