WWE is always looking for ways to create more content-even as the WWE Network goes away soon. We’ve long had RAW and SmackDown. NXT joined the fray, and more recently, we’ve had Speed on X. There are other more mainstream shows as well. Miz and Mrs have done well, as have the A&E specials. And now there is something new headed that way.

Yes, he’s part of that Holyfield family. I knew of him from his days as a Philadelphia Eagles practice squad legend. But Elijah is the son of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. After several years bouncing around the NFL, the young Holyfield inked a deal with WWE.

And now, shortly after he signed on the dotted line, he has made his debut as part of this new A&E show. The show, currently titled WWE LFG (for Legends and Future Greats) is set to debut in early 2025. As for the format? WWE Legends are set to coach young, up-and-coming talent. Sounds somewhat familiar. Instead of active Superstars, coaches will include names like Bubba Dudley and Booker T.

Fightful had mentioned early on December 10 that the debut of Holyfield was imminent, as WWE was expected to begin taping the show. And now, on the heels of that, we have spoilers for that debut.

The takeaway here? Holyfield is, of course, a talented athlete and in great shape. But to debut in the ring, for a show, a month after formally signing?

That’s pretty impressive, and as you can see from the comments, he did not look green. In fairness, LFG is being taped, so if ever he (or any other talent) looks bad, WWE and A&E certainly could edit or re-shoot as needed. But for now, WWE has added a serious athlete, another in a long line of former football stars turned pro wrestlers.
