One is our current world heavyweight champion. He won the title at SummerSlam and has no intent of slowing down. Goldberg has not wrestled in a couple years, and has been campaigning for one final match. During a segment at Bad Blood, the two crossed paths. This was a bit of a follow up from when Gunther berated Bret Hart several weeks back on RAW-and named the master of the Jackhammer as his favorite wrestler in the process.

Goldberg was in attendance in Atlanta. When given the chance to climb in ring, he did so. Then things between Goldberg and Gunther got heated, and now we wonder if-or when-we get Gunther versus Goldberg. We know such a match cannot take place at Crown Jewel, now that Gunther and Cody Rhodes have plans. But according to a recent report-from WrestleVotes, there are still plans for Gunther and Goldberg.

When will Gunther Be Next

I doubt Gunther loses-that would mean dropping the belt to a way too old Goldberg. But Gunther could be next for Big Bill as soon as Survivor Series in the near future. The report indicated that there was some discussion about where WWE could go with Gunther and Goldberg, and the response was curious. There may be plans for Goldberg to be in Saudi Arabia. And there may be plans for Goldberg and Gunther to once again have a confrontation, which could ultimately set up a Survivor Series battle.

That opens more questions, to be honest. I would hope they let Cody and Gunther stand on it’s own, but between Kevin Owens and now possibly Goldberg, I feel like that match should be clean but won’t be. I’d rather see the match up on a future RAW, but no one asked me. One question I have is, would the champ make it title versus career? I don’t see them putting the belt on the Hall of Famer, but would the Austrian be the one to retire the former champion? Stay tuned.
