Cody Rhodes’ First WWE TV Appearance Since WrestleMania 41 Loss Revealed?

We have not seen Cody Rhodes since his WrestleMania 41 loss to John Cena. However, WWE may have just revealed he will be back on TV in a couple of weeks.

One of the biggest storylines heading into the 2025 edition of WrestleMania was the night two main event clash between Rhodes and Cena. The assumption was that the newly evil WWE icon would score the upset victory. And that is exactly what happened last month with some help from rap star Travis Scott.

Following the end of his first WWE Championship reign, Rhodes has been MIA. But it looks like “The American Nightmare” will be returning soon. On the company’s website, Rhodes is the wrestler on the promotional image for the May 16 episode of SmackDown in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Furthermore, the company lists the “featured superstars” for this specific event, and Cody Rhodes is among those listed, along with Randy Orton, LA Knight, and Tiffany Stratton.

Could the image and mention be an oversight by the promotional team, and WWE could remove his name from the page? Certainly, and that has happened before. However, Rhodes likes to stay busy, and he does not have a schedule like Roman Reigns. Where he could be off TV for months at a time.

Being away until May 16 would be close to a month (26 days) that Rhodes has been off television. His longest non-injury hiatus since he returned to the promotion three years ago.
