CM Punk hails from one of the most passionate wrestling towns in the industry, Chicago, Illinois. The fans are loud and passionate. However, multi-time women’s champ Charlotte Flair has no love for the Second City.
In a recent interview on “Games with Names,” Flair picked the Northeast area to have the best set of wrestling fans. “The best fans in the world are from the Northeast. I think so. They’re the smartest,” she said.
When the Chicago fans were brought up, Flair decided to stir the pot a bit. She openly called CM Punk’s hometown the worst wrestling city in the world. “Ooh, I like that. Except for Chicago fans. The worst wrestling city in the world”, she proclaimed.
“The Queen’s” comments came as a surprise, as Chicago is often listed among the best fan bases in wrestling. Well, before Punk helped put the city on the map as a hotbed for future stars.
Flair has not been having the best of years. She started 2025 by returning from a devastating knee injury. The Queen then won the Royal Rumble and earned a WWE Women’s title match against Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41. However, she came up short in her quest to become a 15-time champion.
She took a brief hiatus before returning to the mix on WWE SmackDown. However, since then, Charlotte Flair has been unsuccessful in her bid to qualify for major opportunities, such as the Money in the Bank ladder match or the Queen of the Ring tournament. As for CM Punk, he is set to battle John Cena for the last time at the upcoming WWE Night of Champions PLE for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
With “The Queen” knocking “The Best in the World’s” hometown openly, it remains to be seen if there will be a response on an upcoming episode of Raw or SmackDown.
